The overwhelming response to the Kyorugi Referee Refresher Course held on Sunday 11 April 2010 at the National Training Centre gave the organizers some headaches.
The questions in their mind: How to complete the seminar within the time frame? Will there be enough space for them to practice. Will the participants be able to benefit fully from the training?
As it turned out, it was a good seminar for all. It provided participants lots of opportunity to interact, learn and have fun.
They learned the latest rules including rules applicable to local championships; practiced the referee hand signals and the management of competition and took theory and judging tests.
The practical test was cancelled on the recommendation of the STF President.
The STF President, who witnessed the seminar, was pleased with the performance of the participants. He said: “Most of you are better than the international referees.” He went on to encourage them to get themselves upgraded so that they could be sent for the international referees’ course.
