The latest poomsae changes, which were introduced during the ‘Wired To Win’ Poomsae Seminar in March 2006, would be officially implemented from April 2007 centralised grading onwards. Based on feedback, we understand that a good number of coaches are still unsure of the various changes. They have requested for the Federation to organize poomsae training for them.
In response to their requests, we have decided to organize a series of courses for smaller groups based on the participants’ grades and period in the sport. This will allow them to clarify any doubts comfortably among their peers. At the same time, our course conductors can share the finer points of the poomsae movements more effectively.
Here are the courses available
Course A (for 4th to 6th Dan) – Saturday, 21 October 2006 (1pm to 9pm)
Course B (for 2nd & 3rd Dan) – Sunday, 22 October 2006 (9am to 5pm)
Course C (for 1st Dan) – Saturday, 28 October 2006 (1pm to 9pm)
Course D (for 1st Dan) – Sunday, 29 October 2006 (9am to 5pm)
Course E (for 1st & 2nd Dan) – Saturday, 4 November 2006 (1pm to 9pm)
Course F (for 3rd to 6th Dan) – Sunday, 5 November 2006 (9am to 5pm)
All the courses will be held at the National Training Centre. Each course is limited to a maximum of 30 participants. The STF reserves the right to cancel any course if there are insufficient participants. Applications will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis.
The course fee is $50 per participant.
Private lessons may be arranged with the Secretariat. The course fee for such lessons is $150 per person (minimum of 4 persons per group).
Certificates will be issued on successful completion of the course.
Only holders of the Poomsae Coach certificate will be allowed to be a coach at STF-organized or STF-sanctioned poomsae championships and participate in the National Poomsae Referee Course. The Poomsae Referee Course has been scheduled to be held in January 2007.
