36 out of 37 participants completed the intensive 12-hour Kyorugi Referee Course which was held on 7 and 8 June 2008 at the National Training Centre. The course saw them learning, among other things, the referee roles, the laws of the game and the hand signals. They were also taught match management which is essential for good refereeing.
The tests which were conducted at the end of the course on 14 June 2008 at the National Training Centre produced the following results.
- 26 candidates passed both theory and practical tests
- 9 candidates passed only the practical test
Those who passed the course are advised to attend the refresher seminar on Sunday 22 June 2008 at 2pm to find out the new rules and regulations that will be implemented for the championships after the date.
