Is Your Blackbelt Recognized?

Not all taekwondo blackbelts have the same value.

Why?

If your blackbelt is not recognized by the Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF), the national governing body for taekwondo, you cannot

  • represent Singapore in the taekwondo events of the SEA Games, Asian Games and Olympics;
  • participate in numerous international taekwondo tournaments, seminars and courses organized or sanctioned by the World Taekwondo Federation, Asian Taekwondo Union or Asean Taekwondo Federation; and
  • enjoy the multifarious taekwondo activities, including national tournaments, tournaments for universities, polytechnics, institutes of technical education, junior colleges, secondary schools and primary schools, national referee and coach seminars, organized by the STF; and
  • benefit from the numerous bilateral agreements the STF has with various companies.

STF blackbelts certainly have more value in terms of recognition and privileges!

If you are in taekwondo, you don’t want anything less, do you? So make sure that your blackbelt is recognised by the national governing body for the sport. If you are not sure whether your grade is issued by the STF, you may email us at stkdf@mail.com to check.
