STF President Recognized for his Voluntary Service

On the evening of 28 October 2011, officials from Ministry of Community Development Youth and Sports (MCYS) including its Acting Minister, Mr Chan Chun Sing, and its volunteers gathered at one of Marina Bay Sands Ballrooms for the MCYS Volunteer Awards 2011.

Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) President Milan Kwee was among the volunteers recognized that evening for his commendable Public Service. He received a token from Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong, Senior Parliamentary Secretary and Mayor for Central Singapore District. His gracious wife, Rene Kwee, was present to witness the award and shared his joy.

Mr Kwee was a founder member of STF. He rose to the rank of President and later Advisor.

When the STF was in need of a strong leadership about six and a half years ago, he volunteered to take over the helm and steer the organization out of troubled waters. Today, the STF is in a better position to take on more challenges, serve its affiliates better and most importantly grow,

Mr Kwee will receive his Public Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat – PBM) which is a National Day Award from the President of the Republic of Singapore later this month.

The taekwondo community extends its heartiest congratulations to Mr Kwee on being recognized by MCYS and conferred the national honor.
