J H Kim Taekwondo Institute Emerges Tops

The Jalan Besar Invitational Taekwondo Tournament 2006 organised by Jalan Besar CSC and sanctioned by the Singapore Taekwondo Federation was successfully held on 3 December 2006 at Geylang West Community Club.  

The competition attracted 153 contestants from 10 clubs.  J H Kim Taekwondo Institute fielded 34 participants, the highest number for the competition, followed by Chankra TKD Club and Radin Mas CC with 25 participants each.

As expected, J H Kim Taekwondo Institute also collected the highest number of medals.  It went home with haul of 6 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medals.  Chakra TKD was second with 5 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze medals.  Finishing third was Chinese Swimming Club with 4 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Said Mr Nordon Lim, the organizing chairman of the event: “The tournament provided opportunities for participants to assess their skills and interact.  I am glad that the event completed without any incident and the participants not only enjoyed the competition but look forward to the next one.”

Mr. Koh Kok Weng PBM, Chairman of Jalan Besar CCMC, witnessed the competition and gave away the prizes.
